Wedding Cake Cupcake - Something Different?
I think it’s a clever idea. I guess it all depends on your wedding. If you are having a strictly formal wedding, it might not be such a good idea, but if the wedding is slightly more casual, then cupcakes could be fun.
Think about this, tiers like for a wedding cake, only with cupcakes instead. First of all, less messy, I mean, cutting the cake is messy and you need someone right there to make sure there are enough slices available. If the cake is sliced ahead of time, the chance it will taste slightly stale to your guests is a good guess. Cupcakes, on the other hand are in a cupcake paper or something similar and the guests can just pick one up and no slicing required. Think about this, many different flavors. Some people are traditionalists, white cake with white frosting, but many others are more adventureous, they would love a nice strawberry cupcake or a cookies and cream cupcake. Think about that.
The cupcakes can be decorated any way you like and the fun part is the tiered stand can be fancy, that way the cupcakes don’t have to be so fancy. Whatever you decide, this cupcake idea is a good one and only you know if it will work for you.
